Teaser Tuesdays: Crown of Midnight

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading (check her out here).  This week's is going to be from Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas.

Anyone can join, you only need to follow these steps:
-Grab your current read
-Open to a random page
-Share 2 "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
-Make sure to not include spoiler
-Share the title and author
I'll be hopefully posting this every Tuesday :D

(I changed it a bit so that I can take two quotes from two different pages, I hope that's okay)

Here we go:
"A harsh, barked laugh -so raw that none of the smooth, lovely man was even recognizable in the sound, "I'm not part of any movement! Wyrd damn me, I might be a whore, but I'm not a traitor!"

"You and I... We will always stand apart. We will always have..." She searched for the word. "Responsibilities. We will always have burdens that no one else can understand. That they" [...] "will never understand. And if they did, then they would not want them."

So. How did I do? This is my first time doing this, so I apologize for any mistakes.
Bonus: I'm currently editing a review about a certain trailer that just dropped yesterday ehmMOCKINGJAYehm, so be waiting for that *wink *wink :P

  1. I read the first book. Didn't like it much. Is this better?

    1. Definitely! I would understand it if you didn't like the first one that much, considering that it is, the first book in a fantasy series -making it kind of like a world-building book. Crown of Midnight is when all the action starts going real fast. But I recommend that you read the Assassin's Blade first, you don't have to, but it gives you a sense of backstory for Celaena and it is actually very interesting. :D

  2. I always go into a series understanding that it may not be all action. I love world building and getting to know the characters. Then it's time to bring it on. I've not heard of this one.
Ooh, looking forward to hearing what you think of that Trailer. It was.... LOL . I'll let you know on Thursday when I do my Thursday Theatre post.
